Google Play Services

The general rule of thumb with Google Play Services is to remove as many  permissions as possible.

Otherwise , you can watch up to 25% of your battery life disappear before your very eyes.  Where did they do?  CPU always active  and reporting location.  The normal SOP is to disable location, stay awake and wake up.  This will result in pop up box “Google Play Services are not available.

I came across a thread in Reddit about how a user reset all the application permissions and found something extraordinary.  Google Play Services version 8.3, left alone does not consume battery.

So, I tried it out.  After enabling all permissions, I was still hammered by the error messages.  This was even after purging the cache.  Things got down to a minimum, after I remove and add back Google account.
