In Windows 2012 R2, t o add in new Group Policy templates, just down the admx/adml files. Copy them to the %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions folder. Admx files goes into the main, adml goes into the sub folder “en-us”. If you have GPedit.msc opened, you will need to restart that program.
To take a local backup of the Group Policy, just take a copy of the hidden folder, %systemroot%\GroupPolicy
