Google Play Integrity killed my phone’s Google Wallet on late November 23. Google flipped the switch on Play Integrity and disabled custom roms hiding unlocked bootloaders and root.
My Poco X3 NFC with PixelOS faced the same problem. For one week, the phone passed “Basic Integrity” and “Device Integrity” to restore e-payment functionality. Now on December 23, I was able to keep the banking apps running but Google Wallet is dead. I must mess around with the device fingerprint to keep going for a while. That is provided that fingerprint is not blacklisted by Google down the road.
There is also the possibility of my Google account being disabled for doing all these shenanigans.
I guess it is time to pull the trigger on that Poco X5 Pro.
Update 12 Jan 2024
I have been religiously updating the Magisk and other modules. One day Wallet just stopped complaining. I tried to do some purchases and they went through. So fingers cross and just keep using.
