I have been running crDroid 30 Sep version, Android 16 for nearly a month. These are my observations
- Memory management – there is a memory leak causing switching apps to be annoying. When I login to an app, it prompts for 2FA via email. I switch to Gmail to get the pin and switch back to the app, the screen reloads. See something nice on TikTok and you want to check the location in Maps? Thereafter switch back to TikTok, the whole app reloads
- Lock screen shortcut – Lock screen has no shortcuts for camera or flashlight. Minor bug.
Power button has not shortcut for flashlight. The only way to activate the flashlight is to unlock the phone and use Quick Settings tile.The setting for Power button flashlight is found in the dedicated crDroid menu.The default Do Not Disturb does not activate with sleep mode. There is no time scheduling included. Weird as it was present in Android 15 (Settings, Sound & Vibration, Schedule) I created a custom mode (Settings, Modes), there was a schedule option. The annoying part is I can’t change the order of appearance in the Modes tile.- Circle to search. The pill is missing, as a result, I can’t activate Circle to search. This happens in the stock Pixel launcher and Nova launcher. I have set the screen to default sizing and it is still the same.
The 7th Oct build marginally improves the memory management. Maybe it is a placebo effect.
crDroid 12.2 has just been released and the build 19 Oct available for download today. I will let community test drive first.

21 Oct 25 – the memory bug got to me and I flashed the 19 Oct build. Some improvement, but can be better. Tiktok still refreshes if it is in the background for too long. In my view, this is the only major bug for crDroid.
23 Oct 25 – Android 15 QPR2 introduced Modes to replace DND. Link. I didn’t test that version as the build I got gave strange notification performance for Whatsapp and downgraded. Link
