Alfred's New Ramblings

A short trip to KL

A short trip to Kuala Lumpur (KL). The last time I was there was in 2003. The kids have never been there before. The wife nix any trips to Genting so we restricted ourselves to the city.

We stayed at the centrally located Capri Hotel at Bukit Bintang. There were some efforts to make a better walking experience for pedestrians. The wrecking crew demolished the pavements around the hotel about one or two months ago. The construction of the new pavements was proceeding at a snail’s pace, while the pedestrians had to walk on the road.

TRX was nice with lots of eateries. The Pavilion was a bit too high class to walk around. In the night, the human traffic along Bukit Bintang Road was interesting. Lots of crowd and sidewalk food hawkers. The barbecued food along Jalan Alor, did not contribute to healthy living.

I took the kids to Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur at Gamuda. This and the theme park is next to the large Gamuda Gardens development. We booked the 3-ride package and the Hyfly zipline. It is cheaper via Klook but no same-day booking.

To round off our trip, we took a Klook day tour to cover Batu Caves, Chinatown and other sights.

We need a second trip.
