Migrating your media store before the hard disk full. I discovered it is very easy to fill up the hard disk with movies. Sometimes with the wrong resolution or sound.
I decided to move the media folders off the main hard disk to a portable disk.
- Replicate the media folders
- robocopy /j <old location> <new location>
- Use xcopy to replicate the files. This can take a few hours to another day.
- Update the new locations in Jellyfin libraries and restart Jellyfin
- Update the new locations in Radarr/Sonarr Settings.
- Settings/Media Management, scroll down to Root Folders. Add a new root folder to the new path.
- Update the new locations for the media Radarr/Sonarr web page
- At the home screen, click on Edit movies (Select for Sonarr) icon on the top, then check select All
- At the bottom window, click on the Edit icon
- In the pop up window, Root Folder, select the new path. Click Apply Changes.
- When prompted to include moving of media, Select “Move myself” and click ok.
- Wait for the Radarr/Sonarr to complete.
- Click on any media to check, it should be pointing to the new location.
