Collect.\u00a0 Collect all your the items that you have to do into a “collection bucket\/s”.\u00a0 Well if you don’t see it how can your process them?\u00a0 I have found that it is not that simple to just dump out everything I was tracking or committed to do.\u00a0 If anything pops up, when I am at my desk, it goes into a my tracking system.\u00a0 If I am away from my desk, I immediately key it into my handphone (E71).<\/p>\n
Process.\u00a0 Process the stuff collected.\u00a0 I must remember to go through B5 notebook that I use. Had a few todos that were missed out. Small items that can be done within 2 minutes, do it now.\u00a0 Larger stuff, break down into small discrete next action steps (eg. buy screws from home improvement shop, buy glue to repair shoes).\u00a0 Put into action list or waiting for list.<\/p>\n
Organize.\u00a0\u00a0 Group the results of processing.\u00a0 Multi step action items goes into Projects lists.\u00a0 One off action items goes into a Next Action item list.\u00a0 .\u00a0 Waiting for items goes into a waiting for list.\u00a0 This part here I don’t always do. \u00a0 I usually push it into a tickler\/calendar file. Reference materials goes into a reference file or list.<\/p>\n
Review.\u00a0 Review regularly to keep it fresh.\u00a0 Check through action item lists and collect some more.\u00a0 If it is at the end of the week, do a weekly review.<\/p>\n
Do.\u00a0 Just Do It.\u00a0 Complete the Next Action list, item by item.\u00a0 But which one first?\u00a0 That is for another post.\u00a0 After I internalize that part.\u00a0 For now a good guide is the things that you hate doing most first.\u00a0 Those items if not worked on tends to take the most time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
