{"id":1334,"date":"2011-07-18T18:44:31","date_gmt":"2011-07-18T10:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.per.sg\/blogger\/?p=1334"},"modified":"2015-11-15T13:41:59","modified_gmt":"2015-11-15T05:41:59","slug":"ucweb-problem-with-images","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/2011\/07\/ucweb-problem-with-images\/","title":{"rendered":"UCWeb problem with images"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been using UCWeb 7.6 on my Nokia E71 for ages.\u00a0 The auto network switching is really great!\u00a0\u00a0 Everything was working fine.\u00a0 Well too fine, since it works so well.<\/p>\n<p>About 2 weeks ago, it started showing black bands for forums running on vBulletin.\u00a0\u00a0I could hardly make out what are the thread headers.\u00a0 Once inside the threads, the individual posts are not affected.\u00a0 It is only affected at the forum level.\u00a0 I put up with it as my data plan, M1&#8217;s Sunsurf Mobile gives me a\u00a0measely 200MB.\u00a0 The other choice of browsers are Opera Mini or the default Webkit Nokia browser.\u00a0 Both are not great chocies.<\/p>\n<p>When UCWEB 7.8 was released\u00a0in 15 July 11.\u00a0 I quickly upgraded thinking it will solve my problem with the black bands.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly no.\u00a0 The black bands remains.\u00a0 Since the other websites faces no such problems, it has to be some kind of interpretation problem.\u00a0 I stepped through the Preferences menu, one by one to see if there is any improvement.\u00a0 The image resolution was set to high, out of low, normal or high.\u00a0 That caused the banding.\u00a0 I switched to normal, no banding.\u00a0 Back to high, banding reappears.<\/p>\n<p>Well at least that solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>UCWeb is available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucweb.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been using UCWeb 7.6 on my Nokia E71 for ages.\u00a0 The auto network switching is really great!\u00a0\u00a0 Everything was working fine.\u00a0 Well too fine, since it works so well.
