{"id":2253,"date":"2013-06-07T10:35:03","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T02:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.per.sg\/blogger\/?p=2253"},"modified":"2014-02-03T17:00:26","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T09:00:26","slug":"mms-messages-where-art-thou","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/2013\/06\/mms-messages-where-art-thou\/","title":{"rendered":"MMS messages where art thou?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have this problem for the longest time.\u00a0 I simply could not receive or send MMS messages on Cyanogenmod 10.\u00a0 Every time I receive a message, I have wait at least a day for the telco delivery to timeout and send me a SMS with a link to download.\u00a0 Now if the MMS contains time critical info .. .. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>After another instance of non delivery, I called up M1 and they very kindly emailed me the settings.\u00a0 I followed the steps and created the APN and rebooted the phone.\u00a0 Tried sending to myself and others with no success.\u00a0 I gave up and decided that it is the CM10 at fault.\u00a0 There were some posts on XDA that patching is required but new nightlies do not.\u00a0 Hmmmm<\/p>\n<p>So I decided to leap forward again back to the bleeding edge of technology, Android 4.2.2 on Galaxy S2 International.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade was painless\u00a0 and I remembered to flash Google Apps this time.\u00a0 There were a few irritating details.\u00a0 A strange yellow question mark at the cLock widget.\u00a0 The next alarm event was partially blocked by the security PIN dialog box.\u00a0 I spend a few minutes poking around and found that the strange yellow question mark was due to absence of Yahoo Weather app.\u00a0 Nope don&#8217;t need it. Disabled the weather feed and the next alarm event.\u00a0 Now the lock screen is nice clean and well laid out.<\/p>\n<p>There is a process that kept crashing every time I reboot.\u00a0 A dialog box will pop up saying:<\/p>\n<p><strong>process\u00a0 com.google.process.gapps has stopped<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A quick search revealed that you can perform a quick reset to solve this.\u00a0 Settings &gt; Manage Apps &gt; Reset app preference.\u00a0 Very nice feature.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/productforums.google.com\/forum\/#!topic\/gmail\/WQk4IJGu12c\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Google Now kept reporting that the Location Services were not turned.\u00a0 After some head scratching and reading some posts about upgrading Google Play, I deduced that I have installed the wrong version of Google Apps.\u00a0 A quick check revealed that I was right. <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.im\/gapps\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The actual fix for the crashing process and Google Location service is to flash the <strong>right<\/strong> version of Google Apps.<\/p>\n<p>MMS?\u00a0 Still not working.\u00a0 I guess I have resort to WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>9 Jun Update<\/p>\n<p>Evernote latest update could not be downloaded. I keep getting this error<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update for &#8220;Evernote&#8221; could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server.
