Well at least for my phone. \u00a0Since I am on Dorimanx kernel with Aviate launcher, I decided to take a &#8220;walk back in time&#8221;.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Uninstalled Aviate<\/li>\n<li>Format System folder and flashed 10.1.3 v2 ROM to remove Dorimanx kernel. \u00a0Still the same.<\/li>\n<li>Format System folder again and flashed 10.1.3 Stable. \u00a0No change.<\/li>\n<li>Check and uncheck Hotword, No change.<\/li>\n<li>Download English US offline language pack, set phone language to English US. \u00a0No change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Gave jp and started googling. \u00a0Lots of people have the same problem, but mainly caused by the language setting.<\/p>\n<p>Still not working.<\/p>\n<p>I discovered one very nice thing. \u00a0I am sure you tried out lots apps over the years, some good, some bad, some best forgotten. \u00a0Your Google Play account will these dormant apps. \u00a0Installed once, uninstalled, and forever lurking around.<\/p>\n<p>Now no more! \u00a0With Play app 3.1.8, now you can delete them!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2532\" style=\"width: 306px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screenshot_2013-11-18-14-36-111.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2532\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2532\" title=\"Google Play delete app\" src=\"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screenshot_2013-11-18-14-36-111-296x494.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screenshot_2013-11-18-14-36-111-296x494.png 296w, https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screenshot_2013-11-18-14-36-111-112x188.png 112w, https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screenshot_2013-11-18-14-36-111.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2532\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You can delete old apps in Google Play<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Update: 19 Nov<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/showpost.php?p=47575578&amp;postcount=2544\" target=\"_blank\">Someone at XDA said<\/a> that the hotword activation is only possible with the new KitKat Launcher.<\/p>\n<p>Update: 16 Dec<br \/>\nThanks to Android 4.4, I have discovered the cause for this. \u00a0It was due to Button Savior (non-root) app. \u00a0It places a service inside Accessibility and it somehow interfered with hotword detection. \u00a0I \u00a0have since changed to Button Savior (root) app.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few days ago, Google Now or more precisely Google Voice Search stopped responding to the hotword &#8220;Ok Google&#8221;. \u00a0The search bar just shows &#8220;Search&#8221; as if the functionality has been disabled.
