The windows displays hardware version info. \u00a0It is not possible to remove or close it. \u00a0It is always there except when an application is opened. \u00a0WiFi keeps turning off and some applications refuse to launch. \u00a0This mode is used in &lt;surprise&gt;! in the factory for testing.<\/p>\n<p>Turning on Factory Mode comes from a possible corrupted EFS folder (well mine was corrupted). \u00a0To remove this or switch back to user mode, you must be rooted. \u00a0Don&#8217;t worry, this seldom if ever happens on Samsung stock firmware. \u00a0The phone above was a N7105, it is possible to perform this on other phones.<\/p>\n<h3>Turn off Factory Mode<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Install ES File Explorer<\/li>\n<li>Browse to the folder \/efs\/FactoryApp<\/li>\n<li>Edit the file \u00a0&#8220;factorymode&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>It should be showing &#8220;OFF&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Change to &#8220;ON&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Save the file.<\/li>\n<li>Reset and you are back to user mode.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you have already set to ON and Factory Mode is still there, that means the folder permissions for \/efs\/FactoryApp is wrong . \u00a0It should be set to rwxrwxr-x \u00a0You can do this using ES File Explorer. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/showpost.php?p=42070838&amp;postcount=25\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are flashing stock firmware, it is possible to accidentally trigger the Factory mode.
