{"id":320,"date":"2009-08-16T21:52:16","date_gmt":"2009-08-16T13:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.per.sg\/blogger\/?p=320"},"modified":"2015-11-26T18:10:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-26T10:10:23","slug":"installing-sql-2005-cluster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/2009\/08\/installing-sql-2005-cluster\/","title":{"rendered":"Installing SQL 2005 cluster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clustering SQL is a bit different from other cluster applications, eg Exchange.\u00a0 You do not need to install on both nodes and then create a virtual application server.<\/p>\n<p>Install first one node, remember to check &#8220;failover cluster&#8221;, other wise you will end up with a standalone server.\u00a0 Follow the wizard and enter the database server name and IP address.\u00a0 The node to install should be the\u00a0 active node which you are currently connected.<\/p>\n<p>The setup should complete successfully.<\/p>\n<p>If the installation node is not the active node, setup will give an ambiguous error about the scheduled task\u00a0 for the installer on the passive node refuse to start.\u00a0 The log file in the passive node will show some like &#8220;Bad Windows hash&#8221;.
