{"id":4034,"date":"2017-06-08T13:49:33","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T05:49:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.alfredivy.per.sg\/blogger\/?p=4034"},"modified":"2017-06-18T23:57:39","modified_gmt":"2017-06-18T15:57:39","slug":"cisco-lms-ssh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alfredivy.sg\/blogger\/2017\/06\/cisco-lms-ssh\/","title":{"rendered":"Cisco LMS and SSH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Cisco LAN Management Solution or LMS, the Topology Services has a nifty feature. \u00a0Right mouse click on a device, you can choose to Telnet or SSH to the device. \u00a0This module based on the Java plugin is not without its\u00a0headache. \u00a0The information to configure the plugin is not easily found. \u00a0After much grief and hair pulling, I found a blog post for \u00a0LMS 3.2 (gasps!) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipbalance.com\/apps\/network-apps\/ciscoworks\/603-how-to-setup-ssh-for-ciscoworks-lms.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>. \u00a0Using the information from that post, I used the keywords to search through all the LMS 4.2 PDFs hoping for a match.<\/p>\n<p>The configuration of the Java plugin\u00a0for SSH is found in the &#8220;Monitoring and Troubleshooting with Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution 4.2&#8221; book. \u00a0Basically, you need to create a config file for the Java plugin\u00a0to read. \u00a0This file, campusmgr.properties should be in the user home directory. \u00a0For Windows 2012, this is the location.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>c:\\users\\&lt;username&gt;\\campusmgr.properties<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I recommend putting a copy in Default and &#8220;All users&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The actual location of the SSH client software, I placed it in &#8220;Program Files (x86)&#8221; \u00a0or in DOS format, &#8220;C:\\Progra~2&#8221;.
