Android Pie (9) was announced<\/a> on 6 Aug 18, is now available as a third party Alpha build.\u00a0 It works but it is a bit tricky to install<\/p>\n

I will be listing the steps based on Nitrogen OS. My storage was encrypted from previous use of Nitrogen OS 8.1 Oreo.\u00a0 This will require a massive backup job.<\/p>\n

  1. A PC and reliable MTP connection is required.<\/li>\n
  2. Upgrade TWRP\u00a0http<\/a>s:\/\/dl.twrp.me\/oneplus3\/twrp-3.2.3-0-oneplus3.img.html<\/a>\u00a0on your current Android version first.<\/li>\n
  3. Next, if\u00a0your storage is encrypted, copy out all of the\u00a0internal storage, through recovery mode. Use TWRP to mount the phone to a computer as a USB.\u00a0 This is faster and there are no application locked files.\u00a0 The backup can take a few hours.<\/li>\n
  4. Download Android 9.0 Gapps.\u00a0UnOffical Gapps<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Official Gapps<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n
  5. Download Android Pie\u00a0https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/nitrogen-project\/files\/oneplus3\/oneplus3_test\/9.0<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Download Magisk 17.1<\/li>\n
  7. Transfer only the Android Pie zip to the phone and flash Android Pie build.<\/li>\n
  8. Restart<\/li>\n
  9. There will be a prompt “Decryption failed” and restart in recovery.<\/li>\n
  10. At factory reset screen, format the storage<\/li>\n
  11. Restart<\/li>\n
  12. When complete reboot to recovery.<\/li>\n
  13. Copy Magisk 17.1 and flash.<\/li>\n
  14. Copy Gapps to the phone and flash.<\/li>\n
  15. Restart, check if Play Store is updating itself and Google app. After a few minutes, if Play is stuck in downloading updates, restart in Recovery and delete setup file.<\/del>

  16. Follow the wizard or manually add Wifi AP<\/del><\/li>\n
  17. Follow the wizard or in Settings, manually add Google Account<\/del><\/li>\n
  18. Enjoy Android Pie!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For Pokemon Go users, Copy the Magisk folder in Internal storage to another folder.\u00a0 Make it a second tier folder.<\/p>\n

    In Magisk\u00a0manager, Settings, tap on Hide Magisk.\u00a0 Magisk Manager will not close.\u00a0 You can now start playing Pokemon Go!\u00a0 link<\/a><\/p>\n
