I have always wondered about this. After quite a bit of Googling, and library crawling, the answer to the question is IT Service Management. Or described in the series of books of IT Infrastructure Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ITIL, there are 7 main modules, described in 2 books<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Service Delivery<\/strong> Service Support<\/strong> Note the daily operational issues are captured not in Configuration Management but in another module called ICT Infrastructure Management. Applications in yet another module on Application Management.
