I was upgrading a Cisco switch and got this error message when I tried to install method with activate commit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Super package already added. Add operation not allowed. 'install remove inactive' can be used to discard added packages<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stepped through 17.9.3 release notes on the upgrade and the same thing happened again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This post<\/a> in the Cisco Community appears to have the same problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fix is to “install remove inactive” and download the new IOS again or remove all old and future versions of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the root cause? Not enough disk space for me. There was just 2.9GB free. The switch’s flash was holding 2 previous versions of expanded IOS files and the compressed new version.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
