Some key learning points<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

  1. Doing the same project for years really screws up your fundamentals. In some areas you don’t get to practice and you get really rusty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Every company’s capabilities and skills are different. Do not assume. Always ask.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Make explicitly sure everyone has the same understanding. By email!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Stick to your compensation ask.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Always remember to switch your pitch for the interview requirements. If it is a vendor or customer project manager, code switch accordingly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Recruitment agencies don’t follow up with you. You have to chase them to keep you on their radar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. In times of darkness, sometimes you have to focus to see the light. This helps me to keep moving forward.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
