We use it to get requirements from customers, ensuring there are no gaps, and we use it for follow-ups and problem resolutions. This post is not about the importance of communication but rather about me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought I was a so-so communicator.  Recently, I have had a few run-ins that revealed how bad I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During calls or in meetings, I was slow to jump in to clarify or contribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I wrote the minutes of meeting, action items were listed but it wasn&#8217;t really clearly listed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other communications, I often missed out on setting a target completion date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fun part was trying to talk to the customer&#8217;s PIC, who seemed to take offence at anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was eye-opening and humbling at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Communication is the most important skill for a project manager.
